Fifth Trial, Day One

Week 6, Day 1 ‹ Trial ›

Saturday

victim

suspects

The time has come once more, to slip away from reality and immerse themselves in the courtroom of dreams. This time that trip happens to be into a very literal courtroom. The dolls are given spaces at the defense and prosecution's desks; facing one another. There is a table between them which contains the case's evidence.

Black, faceless spectors watch from the gallery, chanting for justice. You can hear-- among the garbled cries-- the names of all the suspects. Yuri, Rean, Merciless, Mitsuko and Mikami, as well as cries for Sting, the victim.

Naturall, Sheepy takes her place at the head of the court as their presiding Judge. Out comes the gavel and she starts banging it on the desk. The gallery slowly quiets and the courtroom becomes eerily silent, save for the sound of Sheepy's voice.

"All right, settle down... settle down~~ Court is now in session for the murder of Sting. Who is the culprit? It's time for us to find out~!"

I don't know, but from the sound of it the blanket was at one point covered in blood - it smelled like blood, and the water was still running over the blanket, which was over the drain. It sounds like they were trying to conceal how much blood actually got on the blanket for some reason.

...Actually. What if they're trying to conceal exactly how much blood was involved here in the first place? Merciless can heal from nonfatal wounds in a matter of minutes, and there was a large dent in the floor and small, clean wounds on Sting that no one has accounted for.

What if they got in a fight, he thought he killed her - by, I don't know, smashing her head against the tile maybe? She got knocked out and was out of commission for a while, healed up, and then killed him while he was trying to cover up what he did?

It's a lot of speculation, but maybe it's possible.

Hmm, yeah. That's a good point.

[ Still, this doll looks pretty unsure. ]

Then again, I don't know about you, but if I'm out to pick a fight with someone I sure as hell wouldn't pick the person who's able to regenerate from most wounds left on her.

Not even if you had superhuman abilities?

[personal profile] sockmeupinside 2017-01-08 01:54 am (UTC)(link)
See, that's the thing. Why go after someone like that, when you could just as easily go after someone who wouldn't have those kind of abilities to back them up? Why rattle that hornet's nest?

I don't know. But at the same time, somebody landed several hits on the guy with superhuman speed and reflexes - wouldn't it make more sense that it was someone else with those sorts of abilities?

Like someone who is not the unbelievably injured guy, the student council member or the nerd who's formidable with a god damned sheet of paper?

I don't know about Rean's speed or reflexes. If we had an indication that some sort of actual bear was involved I'd shrug and say maybe Mitsuko, but if it was Mitsuko I suspect we'd have a lot less Sting lying around to examine.

But while Merciless' aren't superhuman, she's a trained killer and those sorts of things are listed as being exceptional on her profile.

Besides, Sting was a man and kind of stunk. I doubt she would have ate him.

As said before, maybe he just attacked whoever was in there first?

[personal profile] blacksock 2017-01-08 01:47 am (UTC)(link)
That makes a lot of sense. It's certainly the only solid theory we've had so far.

It does make for quite the sound theory. Compared to most i've been hearing here, but that could be just me.
