Fifth Trial, Day One

Week 6, Day 1 ‹ Trial ›

Saturday

victim

suspects

The time has come once more, to slip away from reality and immerse themselves in the courtroom of dreams. This time that trip happens to be into a very literal courtroom. The dolls are given spaces at the defense and prosecution's desks; facing one another. There is a table between them which contains the case's evidence.

Black, faceless spectors watch from the gallery, chanting for justice. You can hear-- among the garbled cries-- the names of all the suspects. Yuri, Rean, Merciless, Mitsuko and Mikami, as well as cries for Sting, the victim.

Naturall, Sheepy takes her place at the head of the court as their presiding Judge. Out comes the gavel and she starts banging it on the desk. The gallery slowly quiets and the courtroom becomes eerily silent, save for the sound of Sheepy's voice.

"All right, settle down... settle down~~ Court is now in session for the murder of Sting. Who is the culprit? It's time for us to find out~!"

Really? That's interesting. In that situation, I could see either of them defending themselves, but it's the state of the body that's making me think Merciless is the more likely killer.

You mean the fact that there was blood writing?

[personal profile] blacksock 2017-01-07 07:00 pm (UTC)(link)
And that exsanguination was the cause of death... But I was actually referring to the body's position. Does Mitsuko seem like the sort of person who would care what the body looked like after Sting was dead? It seems likely to me that Sting's body was posed.

If she wanted to make things look like it hadn't been her then maybe but dragging it all the way to the ballroom seems excessive.

[personal profile] blacksock 2017-01-07 07:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Exactly. We could be dealing with a framing attempt, but if it was one then she certainly went to a lot of effort.

[personal profile] sockmongoose 2017-01-07 07:08 pm (UTC)(link)
But is not it worth a great deal of effort to avoid death?

[personal profile] whowearsthesocks 2017-01-07 07:10 pm (UTC)(link)
Life's too short to worry about things like that. Live in the moment.

[personal profile] blacksock 2017-01-07 07:10 pm (UTC)(link)
No, I'm not saying that. I'm saying that it seems a bit excessive.

[personal profile] whowearsthesocks 2017-01-07 07:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Exactly! Live in the moment. She would have left the body.

[personal profile] sockmongoose 2017-01-07 07:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Is not it something that Sting would have written?

[personal profile] whowearsthesocks 2017-01-07 07:07 pm (UTC)(link)
When he was dying?

[personal profile] sockmongoose 2017-01-07 07:11 pm (UTC)(link)
His profile makes it seem like he was quite a tough sort. And a message of hope would be more likely to come from the victim than the killer.

[personal profile] whowearsthesocks 2017-01-07 07:12 pm (UTC)(link)
Merciless is also the one who ruined the hallways with runes of protection.

[personal profile] sockmongoose 2017-01-07 07:17 pm (UTC)(link)
If Merciless was to leave a message such as that, she would have used a rune.

[personal profile] whowearsthesocks 2017-01-07 07:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Unless she wanted to make sure everyone understood it.

[personal profile] sockmongoose 2017-01-07 07:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Did not she label her runes to make sure that they could be understood?

[personal profile] whowearsthesocks 2017-01-07 07:20 pm (UTC)(link)
How am I supposed to know?

[personal profile] sockmongoose 2017-01-07 07:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Merciless wrote the rune's meaning next to each rune.

[personal profile] whowearsthesocks 2017-01-07 07:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Maybe she ran out of blood.

[personal profile] sockmongoose 2017-01-07 07:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Did not you see the descriptions of the scene? There was no shortage of blood. And why would Merciless leave such a message when blood writings would make you think of her?

[personal profile] whowearsthesocks 2017-01-07 07:27 pm (UTC)(link)
She didn't leave a rune. Maybe she thought that was enough to throw suspicion on it being Sting who wrote it.

[personal profile] sockmongoose 2017-01-07 07:28 pm (UTC)(link)
I believe you are stretching, just as you stretched in the last case to throw suspicion upon Merciless.

[personal profile] whowearsthesocks 2017-01-07 07:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Do you have proof otherwise?

[personal profile] sockmongoose 2017-01-07 07:34 pm (UTC)(link)
You have been so desperate to pin the writing upon Merciless that you created such unlikely conjectures as lack of available blood.

[personal profile] whowearsthesocks 2017-01-07 07:35 pm (UTC)(link)
So I made a mistake.
