THIRD trial, Day 1
Week 3, Day 1 ‹ Trial ›

By now they must know what is coming, when bedtime comes and sleep calls. The dream world awaits them—or more specifically the dark circus tent within the woods. However… upon their arrival, the big top is strangely empty. It’s very different from the lively spectacle they’ve seen every night since it made itself available to them. There’s no music, no props and no people. Not only are the crowds missing, but the performers themselves have abandoned their posts. At least… all but one.
The fire dancer stands towards the back, beckoning them close with that same strangely vacant smile she’d worn during her questioning. Yet there’s something akin to excitement in the way she waves them to come closer. There’s a small partition that separates the performance area from backstage. As they draw nearer, she holds the flap open for them and calls the dolls forward.
“Come one, come all—the real main event is just beginning."
Most of the circus’ things are packed up as though they’ve already prepared to move on to the next town. But there’s one last show to put on before they go. This time, however—they are the viewers and you are the performers.
“The cast has been assembled. Noe, Alexia, Kevin, Top Dollar, Nepeta... Please show everyone a performance to die for. Sawatari is watching.”
There is a space cleared for the dolls—a circular platform from the circus’ show. Running above them is a tightrope about ten feet in the air. Normally there would be a safety net, but it seems to be packed in a box across . Sitting on that wire is a cheerful Sheepy, who waits patiently for everyone to take their places. In the center of the platform is the doll of the deceased and across the room is a long table with a striped tablecloth, upon which sits the copies of the evidence they’d collected the day before. “Well said. Without further ado-- Let the show begin~!”
